Diploma in Cosmetology and Beauty Therapy

The programme name is Diploma in Cosmetology and Beauty Therapy. The duration is two academic years which are broken down into four semesters. The duration of a semester is seventeen (17) weeks, fifteen weeks for teaching and two weeks for examinations.

The general objective of this programme is to produce the best make-up artists and hair stylists to meet the current market demand in the beauty industry.

Program learning out comes

• Apply the basic cosmetology skills in the diverse areas of hairstyling, skin care, application of cosmetics, manicures/pedicures, non-permanent hair removal such as waxing and sugaring, and permanent hair removal processes such as electrology and intense pulsed light (IPL).
• Gradually develop professionalism in the areas of cosmetic treatments to the hair, skin, and nails. Specific vocational skills to be provided include cutting and chemically treating hair, chemical hair removal, fashion trends, wigs, nails and skin care, skin and hair analysis; relaxation techniques including head, neck, scalp, hand and feet basic massage and aroma therapies
• Have the practical vocation of expertly applying makeup applications to cover or promote client image through professional beauty styling
• Ability to expand their career possibilities further into specialties such as reflexology, theatrical applications, cosmetics
